One of Their Own is Slipping Away

"I'm glad you talked daddy into letting me come." Rafe said.

Jeff smiled. "I tend to be pretty good at talking your daddy into things," said Jeff. "I'm the reason he's in our pack."

Rafe smiled and nodded before asking. "How do you, daddy, papa and uncle Matt do it, i mean how are you able to all be together as mates?"

Jeff shrugged. "It just works I guess," he said. "I found your Papa the same way I found your daddy, so they kinda took to each other pretty easy."

Rafe just nodded slowly, he still couldn't understand it.

"You just know squirt," said Jeff. "Whether there are just two of you or twenty, when you find someone, you know it."

Rafe nodded again as they arrived.

Jeff parked and smiled. "C'mon, gotta stay quiet though, your uncle Phil's asleep."

"Whats wrong witgh uncle Phil?" Rafe asked softly.

"He just wore himself out, that's all," said Jeff. "That's why we need you to help Cora so her daddy can rest."

"Does daddy know yet? About me and Cora?" Rafe asked softly.

"I think he's slowly figuring it out," said Jeff, grinning a bit. "He's not the brightest crayon in the box."

Rafe laughed softly and nodded.

Jeff laughed softly and headed toward the room.

Rafe followed quickly.

Cora was curled up and didn't notice them coming in.

Rafe quietly walked in and gently took her hand.

Cora looked up and smiled, quickly sliding over in her bed. "C'mere."

Rafe smiled and sat next to her. "How are you doing?"

"Okay.....scared," said Cora.

"I know hun i know." Rafe said softly.

"I don't wanna be sick anymore," said Cora. "What if I never get better?"

"You will get better Cora, you will." Rafe said softly.

"Glad you came," said Cora. "Not so scared anymore."

Rafe smiled softly.
