One of Their Own is Slipping Away

"I can't tell her she she never going not be sick i can't tell her she's going to proably spend weeks at a time in here."

John sighed. "Phil, you know how scared she's going to be," said John. "And if I'm the one to tell her, she'll be begging for you, you know that."

"I just can't tell her John. I cdan't do it." Phil said, he coudn't break her heart like that.

John sighed. "What if we did it together?"

Phil sighed but nodded. "O-Okay."

John took Phil's hand and led him back into the room.

Phil sighed as he followed John into the room.

John sat down on the edge of Cora's bed and gently pulled her into his lap.

Phil stood behind John as he started to explain.

Cora sat in John's lap while he explained everything, but as soon as she started to cry she reached for Phil.

Phil picked her up and hugged her.

Cora burrowed into Phil's chest and cried.

Phil just held her close.

"Daddy?" sniffled Cora. "I can go home soon....right....don't have to stay here forever do I?"

"Our coming home real soon hun i promise." Phil answered.

"You're gonna stay here with daddy while I go talk to the doctor about what we need to do for you to get better," said John. "As soon as I'm done, we'll take you home sweetie." Cora nodded slowly.

Phil nodded and kissed the top of her head.

John left to go set up Cora's treatment. Not realizing she was still connected Rafe, Cora sighed. "He's not gonna want me now........"

"Thats not true Cor."Rafe said softly.

Cora bit her lip, not realizing she'd sent that. "Still love me?"

"Always love you."Rafe said softly.

Cora blushed softly.

Phil sighed softly.

John came back and they were allowed to take Cora home

Phil stood up with Cora and walked out to the car.
